Men who stole air conditioners arrested in Pulaski
Lawrenceburg Now
A pair of men who were captured on video at the Lawrenceburg Walmart store stealing two window air conditioning units was arrested in neighboring Giles County during the weekend.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department met with Walmart Asset Protection employees shortly before 3:00 p.m. Saturday. They reported that a review of security footage revealed that two men had entered the store at approximately 10:35 that morning.
Footage showed that they took a shopping cart to the air conditioner aisle where each man loaded up a window unit, then headed toward the Garden Center. Employees said that the men left through the Garden Center exit without paying for the air conditioners. They had a combined value of $638.
One of the employees made contact with associates at the Pulaski Walmart store and learned that a similar incident had occurred there. They learned that two men had been arrested and incarcerated at the Giles County Detention Center.
Giles county associates emailed pictures of the two suspects to the Lawrenceburg store and employees were able to positively identify the two men as the ones who had stolen the air conditioners. They were identified as Pulaski resident Travis Morgan Foster, 46, and Lewisburg resident Jeffery Lee Taylor, age 51.
By the time authorities made contact with employees of the Giles County jail, they learned that the men had already been processed and released on bond. Charges are pending in connection with the local crime.
